Jacomo Vasamì’s run at the Aspria Tennis Cup 2026 – BCS Trophy lasted less than an hour. Coming off a semifinal appearance in last year’s edition, the talented 18-year-old arrived with high hopes but was forced to concede the match to Spain’s Rincon in the opening round.
On the clay courts of the Milan ATP Challenger—taking place at the Aspria Harbour Club through Sunday, July 5—Vasamì was forced to retire while trailing 6-2, 1-0. A back injury proved costly for the left-hander from Rome.
In other first-round action, both former tournament winners—Hugo Dellien and Federico Augustin Gomez—were eliminated. Dellien lost 5-7, 6-1, 6-4 to Argentina’s Barrena, while Gomez was defeated 6-4, 6-1 by Brazil’s Heide. In the day’s fourth match, Dedura beat Damas 6-3, 6-4.
Here are the results from the first-round matches on Monday, June 29:
Rincon (ESP) d. Vasamì (ITA): 6-2, 1-0 (ret.)
Barrena (ARG) d. Dellien (BOL): 5-7, 6-1, 6-4
Heide (BRA) d. Gomez (ARG): 6-4, 6-1
Dedura (GER) d. Damas (ESP): 6-3, 6-4
