Aspria Tennis Cup 2026 – BCS Trophy: qualifying rounds underway, main draw starts tomorrow

The Milan ATP Challenger is officially underway: the main draw begins on Monday, June 29, with first-round matches, and Vasamì takes the court immediately.

The 20th edition of the Aspria Tennis Cup – BCS Trophy officially kicked off today, Sunday, June 28, at the Aspria Harbour Club in Milan. First-round qualifying matches took place on the clay courts of Via Cascina Bellaria.

It was a mixed bag for the Italians: of the 13 players competing in the qualifiers—including three all-Italian matchups—only four managed to advance past the first round. Worth noting is the heroic effort of Federico Arnaboldi; after winning the final of the ITF tournament in Bergamo earlier that morning, he traveled to Milan in the afternoon to face Dalla Valle, only to be forced to retire due to a thigh injury.

Here are the results from Sunday, June 28:

Compagnucci (ITA) d. Colasanto (ITA): 6-2, 6-1
Donald (CZE) d. Potenza (ITA): 6-2, 7-6
Gombos (SVK) d. Mazza (ITA): 7-6, 6-4
Erhard (FRA) d. Bilardo (ITA): 6-7, 6-2, 6-2
Kravchenko (UKR) d. Ciavarella (ITA): 6-3, 6-4
Sanchez Quillez (ESP) d. Poljicak (CRO): 6-7, 6-4, 6-2
Masur (GER) d. Paldanius (FIN): 6-7, 6-3, 6-1
Roca Batalla (ESP) d. Seghetti (ITA): 6-3, 3-6, 7-5
Tabacco (ITA) d. Forti (ITA): 3-6, 6-4, 6-2
Rapagnetta (ITA) d. Ursu (UKR): 6-2, 6-1
Nesterov (BUL) d. La Vela (ITA): 6-1, 6-4
Dalla Valle (ITA) def. Arnaboldi (ITA): 6-2, 3-1 (retired)

Main Draw

The second qualifying round is scheduled for Monday, June 29, starting at 10:00 AM. Following that, in the afternoon, some first-round matches of the main draw will take place. All eyes will be on Italian talent Jacopo Vasamì, who makes his debut against Spaniard Daniel Rincon. The 18-year-old returns to Milan after reaching the semifinals in last year’s edition.

Two former Aspria Tennis Cup champions will also take the court: Hugo Dellien, facing Alex Barrena, and Federico Gomez, who will go up against Gustavo Heide.
